Ibiza in winter, a gem to be treasured

Ibiza in winter, a gem to be treasured

Ibiza hides many secrets and traveling to the white isle in low season can be a lot more rewarding that you might imagine. We all know that saying: Ibiza never sleeps. However, the island of parties, luxe and excess does rest. And from October on, it slips into that peaceful, green paradise totally worth visiting.

Because we know you like peace and relaxation, we’ve selected places that are worth a visit, sites to see and activities you can do any time in autumn or winter in Ibiza.

Visit the old town and walled city

Dalt Vila is one of Ibiza’s most emblematic places. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s definitely a must when it comes to cultural visits. When you wander down its streets you’ll spot small clothing boutiques and charming restaurants. The best thing about visiting in low season is delighting in its quiet streets, far from the crowds of tourists, and contemplating the marvellous views of the island from its numerous vantage points. At the end of your walk, you’ll see its amazing cathedral, perched on top of the wall.

The most beautiful coves in the world reserved just for you

There’s no doubt about it: Ibiza’s coves are the gems most sought after by the island’s visitors. They are located in idyllic spots, their water is so crystal clear it’ll leave you speechless and their landscapes are brimming with unrivalled beauty. A solitary walk around this area will restore your energy, but watch out, you’ll not want to go home!

Activities: Hiking, diving or cycling trips

The pleasant temperatures during the winter months are perfect for outdoor activities. We recommend you try trails like Sa Talaia, the highest point on the island, the Pla de Corona, perfect if you visit Ibiza when the almond trees are in bloom, and the Portinax lighthouse, a trail by the sea ending at the small Moscarter lighthouse. If diving is your thing, you’ll find some courses and outings to see the famous Don Pedro shipwreck and the fish farm near the Formentera coast.

Food tours

Ibiza offers much more than partying and beaches. What about its food? You can’t leave Ibiza without trying its delicious dishes. Try traditional food like the fish stew, pork stew with rice or the peasant stew. Finish your meal with a dessert such as cinnamon pudding or a cheesecake.

Where to stay

In winter, there is a smaller range of accommodation, but you can find hotels at reasonable prices. Playasol Ibiza Hotels offers you the best selection of hotels in Ibiza’s top areas. Don’t miss out on the chance to visit one of the best islands in the world and stay in a hotel that gives you excellent value for money.

You don’t need any more reasons to visit, there’s plenty of life in Ibiza beyond the months of summer. It’ll certainly be a pleasant surprise.

See you in paradise!
