Fortunate those visiting Ibiza at Easter, because they are the chosen ones who can see how, an island that has remained half asleep during the winter starts blooming. Jokes aside the start of the season on the island is the best time to discover its special spots, go shopping, open its restaurants with the full attention of its excited owners and live the processions and traditions, which are different to the ones in other parts of the country. These traditions mix the customary inner care of these days with other curious customs worthy of being known.

It is now when it is possible to watch a sunset in silence, feel the pleasure of tasting a ‘Café caleta’ to temper the body in front of a silent sea breeze without background music or drive alone down its shores. Those who are wise enough to choose Easter (or Holy Week) to live these islands are aware of the true privilege of not being here when everybody does, but to be here where the treasure is only yours.

So for those who choose to enjoy their holidays in Ibiza and Formentera at this time of the year, we wanted to prepare an article with must-visit spots to live an enriching and fulfilling experience.

To start off, dress Adlib. Lots of shops and stores of the leading designers of the most recognized Fashion Show of our Islands, open their doors to visitors and help them personally. The privilege of having its creators customize us a dress, a jewel or bag is noteworthy and will allow us to integrate with the Island in all its essence. Wander through the streets of La Marina. Visit and meet Elisa Pomar. Scroll through the places where the minds of Tony Bonet, Piluca Bayarri, Luis Ferrer, Dira Moda or Charo Ruiz enliven their patterns and rely on unique, all time, stylish pieces.

If you want to gain forces, do so at our favourite restaurant, Sa Brisa Gastro Bar & Catering, waiting for you in Vara de Rey both for lunch, its afternoon “luncher” and for dinner. Easter Processions in Ibiza are curious and display different sizes of floats compared to the ones displayed in other places, so we recommend not to miss them these holidays. And, yes, use this signature restaurant as a place of operations to feed the body and spirit. The Club Náutico of Ibiza is one of those places worth getting lost in. To have breakfast at its terrace while enjoying the bustle of sailors on their boats, taste their rice at noon or going there for a drink in the evening can fit at club which is open to the public, offering affordable prices. Its cous cous, served on Fridays is definitely worth a mention.

Sa Calma and La Tratoría del Mar are other restaurants overlooking the sea boardwalk of Ibiza. However, if you want to enjoy good food and carry on with the party at night, you can do so at La Cava, Mar a Vila or Can Terra, all of them are a great ‘tapas’ option before drinks.

La Mediterránea is one of those places worthy breakfast spots for the holidays where you can also buy the only Easter cakes, entirely hand-made, on the island. Waking up late and enjoying in their Jesus and Ibiza the best French pastries on their Jesus and Ibiza shops will provide us with enough energy to face the road and expore the busiest beaches during the season and which, during Easter, are only ours. Get lost in Las Salinas, now deserted and surprising, let yourself go to Cala Comte, Cala Tarida, Benirras or the Port of Sant Miquel where many restaurants remain open during the winter and its staff shows us their most warm smiling faces at this time. Our recommendations are Can Tothom in Sant Miquel, whose grilled octopus is the best we’ve ever had, or Cotton Beach Club in Cala Tarida where its Sunday “brunch” combines good dishes, great service, views and live music.

A visit to Las Dalias is a must. While you’re there, enjoy its restaurant serving healthy and organic food; Can Aneta, to live its homemade flaó and ‘Café caleta’ experience and finally, go to Santa Agnès, to taste the delicious chops from the authentic “Gates of Heaven”. All these are plans we should all repeat during this time of the year, whether we live on the island or not.

After opening up to share all these secrets, we only ask you one thing in return: do not forget to smile and live with fullness the most authentic experience of your life.
